GIVE ME TIME

Many thanks for all your kind and helpful advice regarding sleeping. I am trying all of them (apart from Salman Rushdie which I can't face, Graham!)

The good news is that I've finished the first draft of my novel, GIVE ME TIME!!!
And the picture is of the woods where my protagonist goes to play his cornet.

I'm shaking with adrenaline, know I've got a lot of editing to do, but the foundations are down. I will now leave it to settle for a few weeks and begin the hard work....

Have a great weekend everyone!

You've written a book!!! WELL DONE!!!

And you've won a prize for winning the 'first draft' leg of the Novel Race. It's a how-to writing book of your choice, so pick one you fancy, let me know by email and I'll get it ordered.

thanks JJ - I'm still reeling!

Well Zinnia this is by no means the first but it still feels good - and wobbly at the same time. I'll have a think abot the how to books and let you know - many thanks!

It's fantastic news, well done!

Fells good, doesn't it? How many others have you written? Have they been similar experiences, or different?

Will your blogging friends be invited to the book launch?

I've just been invited to a book launch on a boat on the River Thames, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Well done again.

Brilliant - I admire anyone who can write so eloquently to be able to write a book.

Excellent news on the book front. And congratulations on the prize in the Novel Race. You've inspired me to start mine again after a couple of months thinking about it!

By the way, was it you who had a bat in your bedroom or a bird or something, some while back, or have I got the wrong person??

CJ xx

lindsay - thank you for that, but I don't know that being eloquent has anything to do with writing a book! It's more about plot, structure, tension, dialogue, oh and everything else I've forgotten! But no I suppose you need to be eloquent as well- what a nice thought!

laurie - well I enjoy that adrenaline filled first draft. The editing is much harder work!

Mopsa - that's what I thought. Sadly Himself was ill and up most of the night so we both had a bad night!

Crystal - good, I'm glad that's got you inspired - keep writing! But no it wasnt me with the bat. I'd scream the place down.
