A Wash Out

I’m furious. I could kill the person who invented hormones and if Treliske hadn’t just been rated the worst hospital in the country, I would be demanding a hysterectomy on Monday.

We’ve had to cancel a) the meal and b) the visit to the writing café as I am bent double with violent cramps. Not conducive to talking, let alone gregarious behaviour.

Himself came back yesterday evening, took one look at me and said, ‘What’s the matter?’

When I told him he swore, kicked a few things (he feels very helpless in the face of hormonal pain, as do I) and said, ‘right we’re cancelling the meal. No point in having it if you’re feeling like this.’

I had thought that I might feel better with a bit of company, but having talked to a friend on the phone last night for ten minutes, I was exhausted. So a quiet weekend with a hot water bottle is in store.

Of course we now have a fridge groaning with food and no one to eat it. I’m shoving as much as I can in the freezer but it seems to be full of other stuff which I don’t want to throw away. One of the other friends coming also has a laden fridge as her visitors for the weekend have just cancelled - and we can't even feed each other as we both got lamb...

Luckily I am seeing Dr Grey on Wednesday. I shall tell her about this and am tempted to give her our huge Asda bill. I also want a refund on Wasted Days.

Thank you, I feel better now.

We did take James out for coffee but I wasn't very good company. Himself took James back up to his room afterwards and James said, 'I hope she feels better soon. And tell her - I'm a great admirer.'

Oh God, I'm going to cry. Bloody hormones.

Poor you. That just sucks, especially with everything you've done to try and set the problem right.

Big hugs coming at you - but not too tight, as that would hurt!

Feel better, m'dear.

I am sorry to hear that. It's really a shame that this problem won't go away and that you must suffer so from it. I wish you much luck with it and I really do hope you feel better soon.

Oh, I'm so sorry, FP.

Has your Dr discussed thermal ablation with you? That's an option if it looks like the coil isn't working. Then there's the little implants they can put in your tummy to shut down your ovaries for a few months. Don't suffer....go back and get something done. I really feel for you. x

How annoying that you have to continuously put up with this pain. Hope you feel better soon! And I hope you get help from your Doc this week. hugz

Aw - that's awful. Hope you can get it sorted out as quickly as possible.

aoj - thanks. Hugs much appreciated!

Laurie - shame you're not a bit closer and you could have a good feed on roast lamb!

correspondent - many thanks for your hugs, too. However, my new doc did warn that this one might be hellish - I conveniently ignored that when she said it of course. Amazing how you can forget pain when it suits!

sweet irene - that's very kind. Thank you. However, there is a plan b so I dont intend to stick with this amount of pain.

MissU - thanks for that. In fact I'm seeing Dr G on Wed and she did mention putting me on something to stop the bleeding altogether which is what I need. I do have faith in her though - she's one of the top people in the country and comes highly recommended so I'm not despairing.

Dee - thanks for that.

And Lane - what a great bunch you are. I feel terrible for whingeing (how DO you spell that word?!)

many thanks to you all. You have cheered me immensely. I'm feeling a bit better today and the sun is shining so days are never wasted.

I'm probably just being over-sensitive, but I get the feeling that because it's "women's problems" and not "men's problems", we are expected to put up with it. Good luck with it all.
I've been out of the blogosphere for a few weeks so am catching up on all your lovely posts!

Oh no, I've only just read this FP. I'm so sorry to hear that you've been in so much pain and had to cancel your dinner part (just as well I read this one first, otherwise I would have left a comment on your previous blog entry hoping you'd had a good meal...). Big hugs and I'll keep my fingers crossed that plan B is more successful than this.

table - how good to see you again - I thought you;d disappeared for good! I quite agree with your comments and no I am not going to put up with it!

Ak - Reiki seems to have done the trick - I am finally feeling more human this morning so many thanks!

Thanks, Liz. Starting to feel vaguely normal again now. What a relief!

RT - thanks as well. I do have faith in Dr G so we will try Plan B as yuo say! In the meantime let's still go t the writing cafe on Friday?

Yes, absolutely FP. I'm looking forward to it.

FP: you've a ton of admirers out here: take care of yourself as well as others, get better soon, and take care of this problem so that it stops coming back time after time! If your lovely doctor can help, that is: here's hoping she can:-)
