Fame Part Three

As we are such a famous family now, the above is a picture of Himself playing in a jazz band a couple of weeks ago. (He's the one on the right, playing with his mate Bob.) He was to have been playing this Wednesday but unfortunately the venue was already booked, so that will have to wait until after Christmas.

In the meantime, you know that cornet he bought a few weeks ago? The one that was JUST RIGHT, POP. The one that he spent ages reshaping, stripping of lacquer and doing god knows what else to?
It’s gone back on ebay

He did laugh, rather nervously, and said, ‘”the tone’s wrong, Pop.”
Story of my life.

He sold it at a loss of £45 .

“Just as well you’re not trying to make money,” I said (though of course this was the idea).

Out walking the dog on Saturday, he said, “Come on, Pop. I have to get back to check my internet business.” He giggled. “It’s called bankruptcy.com.”

Just to compound matters financial, he bought another cornet last night on ebay at the knockdown price of £42. I despair.

For those of you asking if I could put my moments of fame on Youtube – I don’t (yet) have a DVD of the programme, but for a good laugh, you can see it on the Westcountry TV website - http://www.itvlocal.com/westcountry and click on Documentaries.

Unfortunately I sound like Ann Widdecombe. But we don’t look alike.

Flowerpot: I went on the website and the documentaries section, but the one they showed was about West Country musicians. Is that the same one you're on?

no, it's the first piece to start the programme.

Can't get your bit to load. Pah:-(

lane - sorry about that. It must have worked because Liz saw it. Strange.

lane - I've emailed WCTV and told the m there's a problem with it.

I got the musicians, too. I'll keep trying to find you. I know you're there somewhere!

chris - well I'm glad someone found me! Or not...

RT - hope you're feeling better today and that meeting with specialist went OK. If Chris has seen it, it must be there somewhere...

RC - if you press forward enough, perhaps that might do it?

I can't see your bit of the video either Flowerpot. :(

I went to the website and it worked first time, so I got to see you twice!

Perhaps Himself should have put a reserve price on the cornet...it's such a shame to lose that much money after such a short time.

Boys and their toys, eh?

Ak - well this is strange - some of you see me, some of you not!

MissU - bad luck two viewings of me eh?! As for the cornet - he did put a reserve price on it, but he said he 'just wanted to get rid of it'. Lousy businessman!

Now you all have to be a bit techie to get it to load - it doesn't like cookies blcoking. I had to tinker with the internet options to enable cookies before I was able to view and saw our Flower put her vociferous view of sex and Mary Wesley forward. I missed it on TV so was glad to meet you Flower.

I would have loved to have been there. My friend's son is a very talented jazz musician and travels to London every weekend for lessons.
My father-in-law paid £100 for a second hand trumpet he bought my son. I shall have to get it out so you can tell me if it was a good buy. Unfortunately, he has since lost interest.

Himself is really enjoying himself in that picture. And camera's never lie.

Greatful for the link fp, I'll try and check it out :-)

Music is such an essential part of life and how lucky you are having a man that plays and you can sing and can appreciate it all. We have a shop near us that sells 2nd hand instruments (incl brass) so you can part-ex your stuff for different ones. I've learned that others have done this with guitars in different areas so you might get more than on ebay? I don't know but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Well - go 'himself!'. Hope you won't let all this fame and fortune go to youor head Flowerpot!

lady thinker - I'm glad someone has some technical expertise here. Good for you. I've three times met friends recently and they've shouted SEX at me. Can't think why...

ellee - let me know what type of trumpet that was and I'll ask the oracle - he's becoming something of an expert....

Flowerpot said...

Crystal - yes he was though he was concerned that he was "playing down" rather than "playing up". No comment.

Philipa - that shop sounds interesting but possibly rather a long way from us. Great idea though. There is one in Plymouth but every time he goes there he falls in love with something else and buys that as well...

mid-lifer - no worries. With a husband and dog such as I have, there's no chance!!

Penny Pincher said...

Flower it wasn't quite so much the way you shouted out SEX but the smirk that followed - well I thought it looked like a smirk!
