Flowerpot is somewhat indisposed at the moment and is heading for a minor operation on Monday, so here is a soothing picture of my mother's front door in sunnier, warmer times. I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs comforting.

You were going to have a lovely picture sent by my mum of me aged about 3 and my dad sitting on the terrace at our home in Devon. Himself scanned the picture, sent it to me - but it's a PDF file not a Jpeg and blogger doesn't like pdf files. Anyone any ideas? You know what a technical virgin I am.

Excuse me while I crawl off with my hot water bottle.

I'm sorry to hear that you have to have a minor operation FP. Nothing serious, I hope? Fingers crossed that you feel better and that it helps.

Hugs,

RT - no nothing drastic, thanks. The usual problems!

ChrisH - thanks Chris. I will.

Lane - yes it;s a great front door isnt it? Worhty of aplace in a novel I think.

irene - I'm not far away! Just popped in feeling better from a bit of sunshine. Amazing what a bit of Vit D can do.

Crystal - thanks. Good excuse to sit in the sun and read.... something I never normally have time to do!

Hope everything is simple and straightforward on Monday. I'll be thinking of you. One little thing to bear in mind - you might have an oxygen mask on when you come round (even for a small op.). They forget to mention this beforehand and it sometimes throws you a bit if you aren't prepared. Take some deep breathes, don't fight it and you will soon be sitting up having a cup of tea. correspondent - many thanks. Am feeling a lot more myself thank god (Sunday morning) so am sure it will be OK tomorrow.

Rachael - good to meet you and pleae pass this way again. Posts are usually rather more lively!

lesley - thanks for that but teh anaesthetic should only be a local. Or I will get worried!! But I will bear that in mind.

laurie - how very kind about the flowers. I will look into the pdf/jpeg situation but I tried using All Files to attach it to blogger and that didnt work either. My SIL is going to fiddle with the file and see what she can do so we might win yet!

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog. I can't remember how I found you, just browsing other blogs and checking out their links, you know the sort of thing, before I knew it I forgot how I got there.
I will be back often.

dee - good to see you particularly as I still can't access the comments section on your blog - very strange!

Ak - many thanks. Reiki much appreciated indeed. It will keep me calm - or at least stop me hyperventilating I hope!!

Rachael - good, please call back!

Glad to hear it is only a local!

If you open the photo file in your Adobe programme for instance, or similar (mine is Adobe CS but other image software programmes should have the same option)- click on - File - SAVE AS and a list should drop down with all your options. Choose JPEG and that should be sorted.

I love the front door. How English is that? I can even smell the roses!

I hope Monday goes well for you and you feel better quickly. I found your blog at Miles Away In France. I was in Cornwall once many years ago. What a beautiful place.

Good luck with the operation -- hope that it is quick and easy and you are back up to speed soon!
On converting pdf to jpeg: there are a bunch of programs out there, shareware or the like, which claim to do it: I don't know how good a job any of them do. I have a program which is free called ImageMagick, which together with ghostscript will do the conversion.
Again, I'm not sure how good a job it will do: if you want to email me the pdf file I'll run the conversion and send the jpg file back. My email is on my profile page.

lesley - thanks very much for the information. I will go and investigate..

rilly - unfortunately I happen to know it's going to be a woman. But I'll keep my eyes open just in case.

violetlady - how lovely to meet you and please call again soon. Cornwall is indeed a very beautiful place though at the moment it's a bit damp and grey - like everywhere else I suspect!

Graham - thanks so much. It shouldnt take long so I'll be back this afternoon, hopefully none the worse for wear!

breadbox - what a very kind offer. I will indeed do that as I'm rather short of time this morning. Many thanks indeed.
