Organ donation - my piece in the Daily Mail

This is the link to a piece I wrote about organ donation. You may not agree with it, but please read it if - it could save someone's life.
Thank you.

Sue, I managed to read your artice on Press reader.
It was a very good article and I agree whole-heartedly with what you say in it. I think that the new measures will save a lot of heartache for both the bereaved and those who need the donations & that more people will have a better quality of life because of them.
Several times a week we get organ samples for testing and we all hope and pray that they will be useful. Very rarely, we hear that they weren't suitable, but when we hear they were, its a relief to know that we are a part of that success. One of my colleagues daughter's collapsed at work & died immediately. She was a nurse in ICU & had a donor card, her organs went on to help over 20 people have a better life.
Good job, well done Sue.

Kim - again! Thanks for your comments - of course you know it all from the professional side of things. That is so valuable, thanks again. How amazing that your colleague was able to help so many people.

I thought your piece was moving and very important. It must have been very tough for you to relive those memories so hugely well done to you. Cxx

Thanks Chris - it was very difficult to write but I have had lots of messages already saying it has changed the way people think so it was all worth it. xx

Don't beat yourself up about it. Pip would have been the first to forgive you as you were consumed with grief. In my case, the doctors asked me hours before Greg died. I laughed, because what could an alcoholic with failing organs donate? But it seemed his corneas were worthy of donation and I subsequently found out that four people had benefited from them.

Addy - I'm very glad Greg was able to donate his corneas - how amazing that four people benefited. That's brilliant X

Addy, every donor gives something to others, it's called hope!!! I am thankful that the Doctors asked you in plenty of time and you were able to say yes.
