Thank you all for your kind wishes. The checkup was clear and I don’t have to have another one for five years which is a tremendous relief.
The worst part really was not being able to eat for a day and a half, and then when I could, my stomach was all confused and didn’t know what to do! Sleep pattern’s been disrupted – which for me is the first thing to go – which is a real nuisance – just when I thought I was getting over that particular hiccup. And I was utterly exhausted the next day, though they did warn about that. All in all I feel as if I’ve been through an upheaval, but I guess I have – mentally and physically – and it will take time for it to settle.
But the main thing is that my news is good, so I can move on and put it behind me – as they say in the trade.
And yesterday the sun shone, I had more energy and we had to drop off some jewellery Himself had made to a craft fair at Trelissick, the National Trust house outside Truro. I bought a pair of earrings there, then we went and had a coffee and took Moll for a gentle walk. She’s back on steroids for her itching poor girl so isn’t at her best but is as cheerful as she can be.
As a postscript – here is something I saw written in the pub the other night.
To be upset over what you don’t have is to waste what you do have.

That's great news about the All Clear, FP. Enjoy thr next 5 years of knowing you don't have to go through it again :)
I think you should photograph some of HImself's jewelery and put it up here for us to see. You never know...you may even get some sales!
That's a good idea MissU - though they only make on demand so there isnt any to photograph at the moment. Next time there is, I will do so!
Catching up here. Great news.
CJ xx
Hi Crystal hope you had a great holiday!
Great news, Flowerpot. It's a horrible thing to have but I'm sure knowing you're all clear makes up for the awful parts.
Poor Moll. What sort of allergy? Is it a wheat allergy? Charlie-dog had that and *sigh* I'm wondering if Tessa Buttons is developing one. She pinched a few little bits of bread from some fishermen yesterday as wasn't at all well in the night.
Pat - the vet isnt sure what Moll is allergic to. It could be anything but a lot of dogs round here seem to have the same thing. Not allergic to Cornwall I hope?! I hadnt thought of wheat.
I got some weird looks when, about ten or eleven years ago, I told the vet I though Charlie-dog was allergic to wheat. But wheat seemed to be the 1st listed ingredient in most dog foods - dry or tinned - so it made sense to me.
It's becoming recognised now!
Have a look here: http://www.vitalinpetfood.co.uk/lamb.htm
OK I know they're promoting their brand of food but maybe worth thinking about if Moll has dried food.
Wonderful news. Having witnessed my mother's experience with the dreaded colonoscopy, I understand what you went through. But then the sun came out. How fantastic! I'm interested in learning how to make jewelry. I just might take a course. I think you should post your colonoscopy pix. Just kidding!
Fantastic news FP! I'm so pleased for you.
I'd love to see some of himself's jewelery, do put a photo up.
Glad to hear you are all clear down the rear end. I once knew an old duck down Treen way. Remember Treen. Well she was in need of some extra roughage, doctors orders. So being a retired scientist of some persuasion. Can't remember which. She did her research. And found the very best roughage can be found in the white pith of the grape fruit. It is sour as all buggery, but can produce the goods, as they say in the medical trade.
I hope you are back sleeping like a top in no time.
Cheers Mark x
Pat - thanks for that. I have rung them to ask for some samples and am seeing the vet this afternoon. It's certainly worth a try.
Wakeup - sorry your mum had to go through it too. Still, worth it in the end (pardon the pun)!! There are quite a lot of jewellery courses around here - good luck with it.
Ak - next time there's an order I will put some pics up - promise!
Thanks Mark for that wonderful advice! That pithy stuff from the grapefruit is vile!! But useful to know... No I havent forgotten Treen but if you knew what the weather was like here - well, enuff said! No enticement to go anywhere!
Fantastic news about the all clear FP. I'm so pleased for you.
Wise words indeed fp.
Fantastic news about the all clear! What a relief!
RT - thanks for that. And see you later this evening!
Lane - it's easy to read wise words, and recognise them as such. It's putting them into practice I find difficult!
Brilliant news, how wonderful to not have to think about it again for five years.
Love the saying, so true.
debs - having just read your post the thought of Christmas makes me shudder! But we have the Tall Ships here which is cheering...
PHEW!
breadbox - exactly!
That's the best news I have heard all day. I'm so pleased for you Flowerpot.
