Icebergs

EVER SEE AN ICEBERG FROM TOP TO BOTTOM?

This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
They actually have to divert the path of these things away from the rig by towing them with ships!
Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm and the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this pic.
They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons.

Incredible, isn't it?

I looked at the picture, and thought "What a stunning image: I wonder how they faked that up?" only to discover that it is a real image! Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

That is an amazing picture, no wonder the Titanic didn't stand a chance.

I've had a brilliant weekend at two jazz concerts. You might like to tell Himself that I saw Ian Shaw (for the third time) in Cambridge on Friday, and a quartet made up of Stan Saltzman, John Parraceli, Chris Laurence and Kenny Wheeler last night at a tiny theatre in someone's home in North Norfolk - it was amazing, the tiered seating can be raised and lowered, it was designed by the owner - a very imaginative architect.

Great image.

PS Do you still sound like Edith Piaf? If so, book Royal Albert Hall for a week and sell tickets!!

(Hope you're feeling better though)
